How to convert m4a/AAC to mp3
« on: October 14, 2005, 05:20:30 pm »

I'm using Media Center 10 and want to convert .m4a (AAC audio) to mp3.  It was ripped off of a non-copyrighted CD (a friend has a band and they made a homemade CD.)

Whenever I go to convert or burn it, I get unsupported / failed to convert.

Is there a plugin that I'm missing? I'm on version 10.0.173

Thanks in advance!

You can use iTunes to convert them, just change the file import format in the preferences.

My friend sent me the m4a files that she ripped in iTunes.

Oh, fun! Get to walk a "computer imbecile" (her term, not mine) through doing this.  :o
