I just realized that when I did analysis, MC saved Replay Gain to the Tags but not Album Gain. Now I want to have Album Gain stored in the tags. After chaning the field properies, I started with Update tags from library, but it was taking 40 forevers so I had to stop it. Now is there a way to see which files have the AG info in the tags so I only have to re-write tags for the others?

You can store the Album Gain values to the tags, but MC will never use them. MC11 calculates the Album Gain values dynamically. Files analyzed with previous MC versions are automatically compatible with the Album Gain system.

Hi Alex,

I want Album Gain in the tags because SlimServer will use it when I play music on my Squeezebox2. That is, if they add support for MC's Albums Gain tags. They added support for Replay Gain, so I am hoping they can add it for Album Gain as well, though I only made the request a few hours ago.

As far as I know there is no way to import the Album Gain tag contents into MC. The only place to even see the tag is Action Window>File Properties>File Type Info and that works only with one file at a time.

I guess you just need to update all tags. Could you do it in batches or let it run overnight?

BTW, it's great that they have added support for MC's proprietary replay gain system. I don't think it has been done before.

Yeah, I meant to start it last night when I went to bed and forgot. I have been doing one letter of the alphabet at a time, and I will let it finish tonight... if I remember!

They've been pretty responsive to my requests to support MC's tags so far. Maybe we'll see some more cross-over users and get some better integration going. I'd love to be able to access MC's smartlists on my Squeezebox.
