I have used MC since v9 with my iPod without any problems. I am now on MC11 and though it detects my iPod as a Handheld Device, I don't think it's seeing it as an iPod.

- When I do a synch, the ipod itself doesn't show my playlists or any files.
- When I look in the ipod from Windows Explorer, it shows all my music in the same folders as appear on my computer hard drive.
- When I open the ipod from MC it also shows all the music there.
- When I right click on the ipod from the handheld devices section of MC, it doesn't not give me to the options to 'initialise' etc. It basically treats it as a regular hard-drive.

It's as if there is no ipod plug-in, but of course MC11 won't let me download a plug-in as it's supposed to be there already.

There has been a lot of improvements for the Ipod in 11.1
You may want to try the new version that comes out today.

Before upgrading to 11.1, Update your library, as the 11.1 library is NOT compatible with 11.0 ion case you wish to move back.


You may also want to try deleting itunes.db in the ipod and allowing mc11 to rebuild the database.

Have you tried reinstalling 11?

I'm about to upgrade from 11.0xxx to 11.1x; can you explain what I have to do to "update my library?"

There's nothing to do really. Except maybe making a back-up of your library since your new 11.1 library won't be compatible with 11.0. So, you'll need that back-up if you want to go back to 11.0. But given the improvements I doubt you will.
