Is there another way I can listen while I record from cassettes?
At the moment, I have a splitter on the line out from my cassette player to attach headphones to, but it seems to affect the sound quality of the recording. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

"Cassette" is that like a 8-Track i remember seeing one on my dads car back in the 70's

bad idea

can't you hook the recorder up the the audio board line in , and record and use line out on the audio card? or just use the connected speakers?
