IP PDA Control
« on: November 22, 2005, 11:01:40 am »

I was thinking of writing a handheld PDA plugin to control media center. I was thinking of giving it full functionality - i.e. browse through categories, give tracks scores, rewind, forward etc.

Does anything like this exist to date?

in concept:
In terms of design I was going to base communications on IP. The client (a windows mobile machine) would connect to a service on the Media Center PC. The client interface would also be a souped up rip of the ipod interface.

Does anyoen have any ideas?

Hello gekkomna,
first of all look at this program if you don't know it:

http://www.promixis.com/products.php?section=netremote

Netremote uses IP communication between PDA and a Desktop-PC-Application. Though the interface isn't very similar to the IPod, it does out of the box what you want to do - almost!

I know no other application, if you discover one or you have finished your development, please give me a hint, I'm interested. Do you prefer C# or VB.Net?

Regards from Cologne,
Chris
