Album art question
« on: December 23, 2005, 10:49:17 am »

I've had this problem for a long time, but it never really bothered me enough to ask about it.  For the longest time, (pre-MC11), I had a lot of soundtracks that had album art attached.  MC would quick-find the art as long as it was in the format of (Multiple Artists) - TITLE OF ALBUM.  Then, at some point, that stopped working.  I disconnect all my art from my MP3s at one point and now, they will not Quick Find properly.  I still have all the art, but it's not attached to the proper albums any longer.

Can someone tell me if I need to adjust the filenames of the art ?  Do I have to change Multiple Artists to something else ?

Yes

It must be, in the same format as [ArtistName] - [AlbumName].jpg

It would be easyer to delete the art and re-search for it if MC is not finding it.

No parenthesis, but what if there isn't one artist, but a number of artists ?  How is that handled now ?

I know what your saying but i don't think MC will find it when it is labeled

(Multiple Artists) - TITLE OF ALBUM.jpg

maybe it would if one or more files from the same artist\album are associated with that file already.

I just don't know, never sat down and figured it out if it would work that way or not.

Thanks, King.

I'm pretty sure that it used to work, but at some point in the past year, it stopped.  I'll mess around with some of the art fields and if I find anyway to get it to work, I'll post it here.

I would think it should not work because lets say the file is called

(Multiple Artists) - Greatest Hits.jpg
(Multiple Artists) - Best Of.jpg

Etc...

I've noticed, with the Album Artist (Auto) field remaining visible, that it's not grouping things together as it should.  Or maybe it is.  I've got three songs from the same album, stored in three seperate places.  The album is titled exactly the same, and yet it does not list (Multiple Artists) in the Album Artist (Auto) field.  It lists each artist for their specific song as the Album Artist (Auto).

I guess what I would like to know, at this point, is what exactly the parameters of Album Artist (Auto) are ?
