Old TV Tuner Stability Problems
« on: December 26, 2005, 05:09:16 pm »

Stability problems with TV Tuner.
I've had this for a while not just this version
and bare in mind that I've got a pretty old (probably nackered)
Hauppauge WinTV 878 Card...
but I have major stability problems with MC and this.
It's a 50/50 type operation as to whether I can get to options or not...
Win TV runs fine.  MC often crash and burns...
It would be nice if it was a little more polite about it  :)

I should mention MC also often accidently detects my Logitech Webcam
as a TV Tuner.

However recently I've not had this installed...

Hauppauge WinTV 878 Card...
What driver do you use for this device?

For this device, you might want to try the third-party driver from here:

Did you used to have the web camera installed?

WebCams fall into the same category as TV tuner (i.e. video capture). That is why it is also detected. In fact it should also work in MC.

If you have already uninstalled this device, but MC still sees it, it most like is due to the driver not uninstalling itself cleanly. I used to have such a problem with a Pinnacle PCTV device.
