I'm having a ton of trouble with the Tivo Server with this release.  I get the following everytime I try to start the server:

Anytime I try to set change the port or any of the options media center crashes.  Just starting or stopping the server causes a crash.  Anyone else have this problem (yes the tivo beacon is installed)

Yup, it's a known problem. The workaround (I could dig up the thread, but I have this memorized now, since I need to do it for every new beta release):

  1 ) Uninstall MC 11.1
  2 ) Open the Windows Task Mgr, find and kill the TivoBeacon process
  3 ) Delete the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\TiVo Shared\Beacon
  4 ) Reboot
  5 ) Install MC 11.1
  6 ) After starting MC 11.1, start the TiVo server. Ignore the error.
  7 ) Shutdown MC 11.1 and reboot again
  8 ) Start MC 11.1 (TiVo Server should start automatically)

That's it!    There may be a shorter way, but that's what was in the post I was referred to, and it works reliably. I would imagine they plan on fixing this before 11.1 goes gold....
