Hi Rod,

Have you a standard DVD player installed on your PC like WinDVD or PowerDVD ?  I think that MJ just uses the already installed drivers and codec to be able to play a DVD. I remember that was true for MJ7 and early 8 releases, is it still the case ?
JRiver folks ?

I have Powed DVD xp4 installed on my machine and MJ8 plays DVD just fine.

hope this will help a little.

have a nice day,

Christian

It has to be still the case as JRiver are not paying for Dolby / DTS licenses for thier product so they need to rely on external solutions to this issue...

The Sonic Decoder packs are $15 for just the filters....
