Just a couple ... and they may have already been suggested:

1)  When you reply can you sort the message threads by newest first ... it would save having to scroll everywhere to see what you are replying to.

2)  Increase the size of the message box (or at least have an option for it).   I run at 1280x1024 and trying to type in a message in the box the size of a postage stamp is awkward.

3)  As others have mentioned definately put in the "jump" combo box ... it makes navigating much easier.

4)  Have an option to mark all threads as read when you leave the forum.
