hello

i have recently updated to the latest version of MC and i am aware that there is no longer a 'media library' view scheme.  the problem i am having is that i restricted my old media library view scheme to one volume, and now when i try to see files from other volumes in either the audio or images view schemes, i can only see the files from the volume that i specified in the old media library view scheme.   it would seem that even though the media library view scheme doesn't exist anymore, the filter that i set up on the old version is still operating.

so i need to find a way of being able to see everything that i import into MC under the audio and images view schemes.  any ideas?

I can't quite follow you. Would you mind explaining in detail what you have now and what you would like to have? Did you check out the links I provided in the other thread?

(Actually, you could have continued that other thread as well. I am going to answer your import question there too, but I need to do some forum searching for finding a couple of old threads first.)

Hi Nick,

don't exactly understand what you mean, but I had a similar problem that I did not see image files that I had imported recently. After some fiddling around, I found that in view schemes I needed to unset "Honor parent scheme search strings" for the root view schemes (audio, image, video) to find my imported images under "images".

The recent changes in media library revealed that MC consists of several different design architectures overlapping each other and that it becomes more and more difficult to maintain consistency over those very different designs (tree architecture, panes architecture, tiles architechture, view schemes architecture etc.).

that is exactly what i needed to know.  once i unchecked "Honor parent scheme search strings" in audio/images view schemes then the previous settings that i had used for the media library view scheme no longer applied to the audio/images view schemes, so now i can see all volumes/drives under these view schemes.
