Corrupt Library Problems
« on: February 23, 2006, 10:09:11 pm »

MC has crashed a few times in the last few days (nothing out of the norm), but now instead of it loading with the standard safe defaults, it says that it cannot load the library as it is corrupt.

I reloaded a previous backup a few days back (others did not work) and all seemed good until I tried to re-load MC after a crash (DVD didn't play right) and now that library is corrupt.  I also backed up several times in between in a different location and those backups fail to load.

I have a lot of data that I don't think are in the tags so I really really hope there is a way to get a recent library backup running normal again before I run out of backups to restore!

Has anyone seen this happen before?

Could you send a backup that won't load to matt @ jriver.com.  Thanks for the help.

I had to revert to .24 to load my library successfully (didn't have .25 or .26 handy though); Matt I linked to my library in the other thread.

Yes, 11.1.124 worked.  I reverted back to .125 before I posted, and that still has problems.

I am now attaching the library that caused the problems and will send it soon (still attaching) Matt.

Thanks guys.

I found that when I restored my system and used 126 with a backup from the day before.

As my library does not hold many smartlists and the like, I just created a new library.
But now that others mention it, I had the same problem.

I have the same problem. As soon as I shut down and start again the library is corrupt and I have to rebuild.
