Dumb question: What is attempting to start when we set a port number in the Start Media Server Upon Startup? UPnP & Library Server both?
EDIT*****I got it working SORT OF. I copied the new MC11.exe (renamed it but guess I didn't have to) because I made a new shortcut to the new .exe and added /MediaServer to it. Running! I guess it never got updated after .23 or maybe the .exe name changed???
Now however with the server running in the systray and in MC Options I set the Media Server top use a particular port on startup...I can't access my library on the client (also using .33).
When I place the /mediaserver in the wowsys64 I get an error on the client that states it is not compatible so it's seeing it on the right port; when I run the /mediaserver in system32 it fails to connect.
Since the client is now seeing my server but says it's not a library server or incompatible, I am guessing that Media Serve is actually the UPnP server? There is nothing in the Help file on this. I have something running but when I search for servers I only get my other library from my third PC...so what exactly IS Media Server ....UPnP?
Looking for some assistance with Media Server running on startup; checked MSCONFIG and it's there:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\MC11.exe /MediaServer (Common Startup)
However this file, MC11.exe, doesn't even exist in System32 folder ? BUT I did find an instance of MC.11 in the SysWOW64 folder (version 11.0.26.0). Itried making some targets to run the remoteserver.dll but I don't know what I'm really doing; all I get is MC to startup.
My PC has a mediaserve/dll in the instal folder and that's it, the shortcut is gone.
thanks
