Error loading library on client

My problem is this:
On my server machine I'm running MC Library Server. No errors reported. MC version is 11.1.111.

On my client machine, I'm trying to search for this server (File>Library>Search for Media Servers) and get the error message "Error Loading Library" "Media Center failed to load the library 'Seach for media servers' and will attempt to load the previosly selected library". MC version on client is the same as the server.

The log on the server seems ok to me:

Any idea anyone?

I have the same problem. Tried updating to 11.1.121, but to no avail.  Running server through port 4040 which is allowed in Windows firewall.  Server also uses authentication.

Log on the server:

02/22/06 23:05:10 - Running on Port 4040
02/22/06 23:06:03 - Informing client they must authenticate

02/22/06 23:06:10 - Sending version
02/22/06 23:06:10 - Received request for library
02/22/06 23:06:11 - Sending library
02/22/06 23:06:44 - Received request for a file:
02/22/06 23:06:44 - Error sharing file, file not found

Then the client's MC changes their filenames for their library to my IP address as the root directory, ie, /###.###.###.##\\./C\Music\... and then they are no longer able to play music out of their library without first renaming the filenames.

Sometimes when the client is asked to authenticate, my server prompts me to authenticate a connection to my computer.

Make sure your server is not using a remote library. Other than that, I'm confused. I don't know why your server would ask for authentication when a client connects...

I have tried it with the firewall off both on server and client. Same result.

I had this too.  Turned out my 'client' was on version 111 (which I'd run for a few days to see if OK) and the 'server' had then been upgraded and got version 121.  Upgraded both to latest version (130) and all seemed to be fixed.

I'm running version 11.1.111 on both client and server. I can't see that I'm the only one having this problem. Can it be that this feature is rearly used by others in latest version?

Library Server gets quite a bit of use. 

Try updating to the latest build on the download page here.  I don't think the build is the problem, but it would be good to try something more current.

Check to make sure Remote Server is not running on the same port.  It's configured in MC Options, Startup.

Make sure you're using the right port on both PC's.  Make sure no other software uses the same port. 

If it still isn't working, it's likely that a firewall is blocking the port.  Try port 80 (unless you run a web server).  It's usually open.

Don't forget to check the Windows firewall.

Yes! I updated the client to 11.1.144, and it works fine now.

BTW, I actually had to download the latest version from the web and run the installation file. I thought I could use "Check for Updates" in MC, but then it was just saying "No updates available at this time". Therefore, I thought I was actually running the latest version, which I obviously wasn't.
