Burning CD's from FLAC Problem
« on: March 17, 2006, 04:43:39 pm »

I know this is an old problem but it seems to have raised it's head again.

Burning a CD from Flac's causes only the 1st min of each trach to be burned.

I'm using MC 11.1.147 with Scotts Flac Decoder 1.5.
replacing the decoder with V1.4 clears the problem.

Hmmm.

I wonder if this is related to the "interface change" that caused problems with 146.  This will likely take a bit of investigating, so give me some time.

Still not sure if it's related to the 146 change, but I have verified the issue is with the 1.5 decoder.  The 1.4 decoder seems to be fine.

As always with these things, it's the smallest details that kill you.

I did find the problem with the CD burn issue in 1.5.  I'm still working through a few more things so it will be a few more days until I can post it.

Here's a link to the details. http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=32632.0

There are 1.6.0 versions of both the encoder and decoder plugins.

NOTE:  I have created a Sourceforge home (mcplugins) for these and for anybody else who wants to use it (open source only, of course).  The install is not quite as slick, since you'll have to download the ZIP file, extract, then install using the mjp package script as opposed to just clicking the mjp from a website.

The new URL is http://mcplugins.sourceforge.net.

Please let me know what you think.

I'll get them posted on my personal homepage later tonight for those that prefer that method.  But be aware that will eventually be phased out and the sourceforge site will be the home.

I think Josh Coalson would be proud.

I've just burned a cd from flacs using both version 1.6 plugins and all seems well :-)

Thanks Scott
