Issues with random play
« on: February 21, 2006, 10:46:32 am »

Hi—was running 111123 over the weekend as follows:

Right-clicked an album in Windows Explorer and chose to play it in MC. For a couple of other albums, chose Add & Play. Then I "cherry-picked" a whole slew of individual tracks by dragging and dropping them from Explorer into the MC Playing Now queue... THAT'S when random playback failed.

Starting and stopping MC a couple of times seemed to help, manually toggling the Shuffle button OFF/ON.

Thought I'd report this, in that this probably isn't the one and only time I'll elect to use MC in this way.

***ALSO*** Would it be possible to allow the user to configure MC's Explorer menu options? I'd personally like like to disable the [Replace & Play] item. When That's because when I'm adding a bunch of albums from Explorer by right-clicking, it's all too easy to make a goof and wipe out everything I had previously selected. If not a CFG option, at least a "Are you sure?" warning would be nice to have here. > Thanks!

MC always plays in the order you see.  Use "Reshuffle" (Ctrl+R) to reshuffle the current Playing Now list.

If you drop at a specific location, it won't reshuffle automatically.  This allows you to fine-tune a shuffle.

Ok, I understand.

What about configurable Explorer shell menus?

Shell menus are not currently configurable.

Possibly in a future version.

Yep... that's what I want to hear.   :)

That's one thing I HATED about WinAmp—working hard to create just the "right" ad hoc playlist, only to double-click an item (instead of a single click), thereby wiping out the list!

Similarly, I have to very careful around that "Replace & Play" shell menu option.
