FFDSHOW and MC problem
« on: March 05, 2006, 09:36:25 am »

I use FFDshwo for xvid, avi, etc....anything not dvd. I have the box unchecked to use Windows Media Player engine if possible. For about 5 days everything is fine and suddenly MC will crash and it looks like multiple instances of FFDshow are loading in the systray.

I uninstall FFdshow and avi's palyback choppy, really weird consistent choppiness - if I seek to the middle I get giant blocky pixels for a second.

Re-install FFDshow and everything is fine, until the cycle resumes itself.

I have Gspot and some other tools, but I know little about video codecs except that I had tried codec packs in the past and read to be careful with what you install.

Anyone have any ideas?

thanks
Dr C
