Move Files?
« on: September 23, 2002, 06:23:36 am »

Is there some way to move large numbers of files without having to load them all into the Properties dialog?

That is, I'd like to move them and keep the files organized in sub-folders by artist. You can't do this with the "Move/Copy Disk Files" command. The only way I can see to do it is to load files into the Properties dialog and use the Tools\Rename command. But I want to move 2500+ files. The properties dialog takes forever if I try to load more than a 70 or 80, and if I go over a hundred or so it just chokes completely.

Any suggestions?

Short of removing the files from MJ, then moving them via explorer and reimporting them, File Properites is your only bet.

MJ 9 makes this a little easier. You can access certain tools (like rename) without having to load them into Properties.
