Hi,

Can someone clarify if there is a right or a wrong way to install plug ins for Media Jukebox.

I may be doing something stupid or just wrong but i do seem to encounter difficulties.

With no apparent pattern i seem to get the following message sometimes

"Invalid package file" - cannot continue.

When i sometimes do manage to download the plug in does not seem to appear anywhere and hence does not work.

The 2 main ones i am interested in are Mirko's Dupfinder and the Kings Top40 Chartfinder.

I did manage to have both installed and working once, but when i tried to upgrade the versions it did not - Version Numbers stayed the same.  So i deleted them and attempted to reinstall from scatch.

Dupfinder is now working, but only by downloading seperately, unzipping and then registering each "ocx" file by hand with Windows Registry services.

Chartfunder downloads - but disappears!  I cannot even find a downloaded package on my PC.

Any thoughts / help ?

If there is a problem with the install package I know Mirko's and I would like some help from J River finding it and fixing it.

And if there is a problem with the users OS is Older and that the Registry.reg is not compatable a away for them to iinstall it.

what version is the Regedit?

the registry.reg i think requires 5.0 or higher, since thats what J river put into the Registry.reg file

if you would like a link to the project i will provide one if you tell me what you did to get it working when you edit the registry.
