During a standard sort, MC intelligently handles mixes of numbers and letters.

That way MC sorts something like this right:
1 dog night
2 dog night
10 dog night

Most programs would sort:
1 dog night
10 dog night
2 dog night

I was trying to sort some files out on one of the sites I run and had to keep jumping the list around.

So I thought it wasn't right .. but used that way, it would make sense... the first list you gave. I don't know how a 3 could come before a 2 in the first example I had though.

Going by the list you gave, I'd say the 3 is sorting before a 28, not a 2.
