Control MC playback via Google Sidebar?
« on: March 06, 2006, 01:37:55 pm »

Over the weekend I installed this google product called "google sidebar"
http://desktop.google.com/features.html?hl=en#sidebar

You can add/remove panels of your liking.  There is an option to show ActiveX plug-ins.  There is an activeX plug-in called JRiver PlaybackEng Control and JRiver CDRipper Control.  I don't know much about ActiveX, but my logic was, if I enable PlaybackEng Control I would then see basic controls like play, stop, ffw and rev. And for the CDRIpper Control I thought I would be able to drag/drop files in the box and then MC would burn to CD/DVD.    Obviously that was not the result and that is why I'm here.
Is it possible to control MC playback from google sidebar?

thanks adrian

I highly recommend keyboards with multimedia controls  :)
The drag and drop for CD burning would be a nice feature however.

Could you add console commands to a button on the sidebar?
Using MC11.exe commands you can make it stop, play, pause etc

I did not see any options for command controls.  There is an itunes control plugin that shows ratings and cover art and a winamp control.  i'll be patient and hopefully its only a short time before there is a j. river plugin.
