iPod and Podcasts
« on: March 09, 2006, 02:28:55 pm »

I'm sure this is obvious but I can't find out how to do it.

I want to make certain folders of podcasts sync to my iPod automatically.

How do I do it? :)

Thanks!

Create a smartlist with those folders. For example, here's my smartlist for science podcasts:

[Filename (path)]=[E:\Podcast\Berkeley Groks Science Radio Program\],[E:\Podcast\Quirks and Quarks\],[c:\Documents and Settings\Me\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Podcasts\New Scientist Podcast],[c:\Documents and Settings\Me\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Podcasts\Science Friday - Making Science Radioact\] [Media Type]=[Audio] ~sort=[date created]-d

Broken down:
[Filename (path)]=[(full path to podcast)], [(another path)], ...
[Media Type]=[Audio]
~sort=[date created]-d

Use a double quote at the end of the path instead of a close bracket to include all subdirectories in the list: [e:\podcast\"

Hope that helps, bg.

Thanks I'll try this. :)

However the exact filename paths do lock me into a fixed directory structure so if I move my Podcasts I'd have to redefine this smartlist.  It also feels un-MC like to me.  Is there a way to do this that's tied into the MC Library concept, shouldn't there be?

Thanks!
