Since installing the latest release I have no internet connection from within MC 11.

If I disable Zone Alarm then all is fine. It was fine with the previous release.

I have deleted MC from the allowed programs list and re-added it to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this or Knows the solution?

I run ZA and have experienced no problems with 11.1.184, per se.  However, on an upgrade you will need to reassociate the permissions for MC.  The best way to do this is to enable program alerts, (if they are not already), remove all setting sfor MC, and let fly.

Remember that there are several processes within MC, each with their own entry in ZA.  Not just "Media Center", but "Media Editor", Download Manager", "Package Installer", and possibly others having to do with internet browsing or podcasting, I don't know.

Also, you'll need to make sure that MC can talk to other programs.  Raising the permission level to III should do this, although check the settings to confirm.
