CD Burning...........Media Center 10.0.173
« on: December 02, 2005, 06:08:48 pm »

I'm having a problem burning audio CDs. The files are MP3s, and am burning them to audio CDs. Basically what happens is after the burn is complete, I'll play the CD in a regular CD player, but for some reason, the first few seconds of the song are actually part of the of the song before it. So when I skip to the next song on the CD, the first few seconds won't play because they are actually part of the song before it.............Thanks for any help.............Lou

That is exactly the problem I am experiencing at the moment.  I am sitting with about 10 audio cd's which I will have to throw away.  What is the solution here ?

Is "Apply Cross-fade And DSP effects to the burn

Checked Or Unchecked?

I think that option was in MC10, you may want to try this option unchecked.

Decode Directly To Disk Checked Or Unchecked?

you can also try MC11.1 to see if the problem is still there.

OK, I made this change: the option "decode files directly to CD" is now unchecked.  I burned a test-cd and it all sounds fine now.
I really thought that my system was fast enough, but there you have it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I am quite happy with my version of MC10, so am not planning to upgrade at this point.
