YADB Issue
« on: September 18, 2002, 06:07:46 pm »

I copy my cd's to put in car. I also rip them into my machine at work. Here's something I noticed with YADB, it will not recognize burned cd-r's when I try rip them at work (reproduced same problem at home). CDDB and FreeDB will. I have tried with some albums I know are in the database because they recognized the origin CD.

Has anyone else noticed this or am I insane?

Side note, in the future, could the yadb be expanded to hold more info pertaining to a song (ie. inline with the fields available in tagging)?

Thanks,

Nick LeFave

Hi Nick,

I'll give it a try and see what happens. Can you tell me the exact steps you use to create the burned CD?

And hopefully in the future it will contain more fields.

Sorry about the delay in response, thunderstorm blew up my modem last night. All CD-Rs have been burned in Nero. I have tried both CD copy and rip wavs and them make new CD-R. CDDB can handle both types. FreeDB will give me a choice to confirm to choice a title or not.

I have not had trouble with store bought CDs. Pretty impressed that a bunch of the obscure Mingus titles I have are in the database.
