Got a FREE M$ MCE Remote setup, should I use it?
« on: April 09, 2006, 01:51:09 am »

A buddy gave me an MCE Remote Setup kit that he doesn't want.   Should I even TRY to get this to work with Media Center?   Tips/Tricks/Forum Posts to look at?

Does it work all that well ?

Just your thoughts?  Otherwise, its going up on Ebay, or in the discards pile!

Dont know exactly what all it does or does not do but I have a MCE machine and often leave MCE running in a window to watch TV.

If MC has focus and I use remote it responds to at least basic commands.  I've never done anything to program it.

So I assume it will work for most commands...

I use the MCE remote w/ MC and the basic commands work perfectly. I just request that when MC is in fullscreen mode, it automatically should retain focus. The MCE remote only works (except volume) when MC has the focus.

Thus, here is a request for JRiver:

Make MC have automatic and constant focus whenever in full-screen mode.

Is there any way to PROGRAM the MCE Remote to perform command with each button push ?
