It seems that changing the volume in MJ changes my system volume as well. What settings should I change to stop this?

But where's the problem, since,  when MJ stops playing, system returns to original Windows volume ... at least, mine does !

Mine doesn't. I nearly blew my speakers when I started playing a game after a particularily noisy session of heavy metal listening !
What set up are you using, maybe I can sort mine out.
