Error when burning CD
« on: September 18, 2002, 04:36:25 am »

Error: 'Write' command failed on device 1.0.0 unexpected target error (04h 00h 04h). Using internal ASPI layer

I have an HP 9310I that is listed in MJ supported devices.
PC: Pentium III with 256MB running Windows 2000.
Updated ASPI from version 4.60 to 4.71
MJ Version 8.0.372.

The above error occurs even with speed 1x.
When I change to use the generic driver it works OK.
Any ideas ??

Thanks,  Mike

There are conflicts between different versions of aspi and you may have more than one installed.  Look for the file called wnaspi32.dll (I think that's it).  Rename some.

I got that same error when trying to burn at 8X (my burner's max speed) after upgrading to the latest version of 8.0.  Before I upgraded, I had no problem burning the exact same CD with the previous version of 8.0.  I even updated ASPI to the latest version, but I can still only burn at 4X with the latest 8.0.
