My toshiba laptop (S2410-S303) has a few controls on the front which can be used to control the dvd player or windows media player. From the looks of the configuration screens (i.e. use of drop down to select windows media player) there should be some possibility for it to be able to work with other software programs. Is there any chance MC can be made to work with these controls?

The nice thing about these controls is that I can just close the laptop lid and use this to control the play. At the same time I could use the tv output on the laptop to run theatre visuals on the tv for a totally cool experience (yes, I am a geek :-)

I have an open question regarding using a remote control via the integrated irda port as well so if either control could work that would be great.
