Failed to Connect to Server Message
« on: September 19, 2002, 08:59:10 am »

I just downloaded the most recent version of Media Jukebox.  I also  purchased the "Plus" features, as well.  I installed Media Jukebox on a single system.  The standard features seem to work, but none of the Plus features work -- as they all seem to rely on the MediaServer that cannot be found.

My system information is as follows:

Media Jukebox PLUS 8.0.372
Install Path: C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\

CPU: Intel Pentium III 797 MHz MMX
Memory: Total - 523 MB, Free - 293 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service Pack 2 (Build 2195)

If you are trying to restore a license, check the FAQ under Jukebox/Purchase above.

Use IE to restore and turn off any download managers you have running.

Providing more detail about exactly what you do and what happens might help.

I just installed MJ for the first time.  I was not trying to restore it.  I downloaded it to disk and then ran the install .exe.  I chose 'Custom' install, but did not change the install directory and did not select any additional file formats.  When it did not work, I redownloaded and proceeded through exactly the same install process -- which still did not work.

Also, I cannot find the FAQ that you mentioned.  I looked at the questions on the FAQ page and searched on 'purchase' and still did not find one on Jukebox/Purchase.
