DVD Playback
« on: May 15, 2006, 02:50:14 pm »

I just bought a Pioneer DVR/DVD 111D for my PC. When I try to play a DVD I get error saying can't play it. Because I need decoder software.

My question is how/where do I get decoder sw so I can play my DVD's with media center.

Thanks

Did you get any DVD playback software with your drive? Media Center can use for example WinDVD or PowerDVD codecs.

BTW, this is the Media Jukebox forum.

I guess you bought a bulk drive then. Have you checked your old installation discs? Perhaps your PC or your old drive came with DVD playback software.

Otherwise you may need to buy a program that contains a DVD decoder. DVD playback programs are normally not free.
