Playback speed
« on: September 17, 2002, 01:32:09 am »

I have just installed MJ and ripped a couple of my CD's. But on playback, they all sound like the chipmunks singing! Why is the speed so fast and how do I remedy this? Sunny

Can you try ripping to uncompressed wave format to narrow down whether the problem is with ripping or encoding? Also post your system info (from the MJ help menu) and the encoder settings you are using.

Thanks,
John T.

I have just discovered that even just playing a CD straight without ripping or anything is also playing too fast. I am using MJ 8.0.370

Any ideas?

It could be a sound card driver problem.  Try updating your soundcard driver.  Also, play around in MJ -> Options -> Playback and see if anything helps. (switching to Direct Sound, etc.)

Let us know...
