The tiny thumbnails are back! All is right with the world now!!!
I just installed and chose to remove all of 11.1
Here are a few things I see on initial setup after the install:
1- Options>File Location>Temporary File Location
This defaults to the users "My Music" directory.
I always change this to the users Temp directory.
A small thing, but IMO, where temp files should go.
2- Playback>DVD Playback Settings
As soon as I click this, I get this error window:

There were problems setting up for DVD-Video playback.
* 2 out of 3 DVD-Video streams failed to render properly
- video stream
- subpicture stream
* No valid DVD-Video volume could be located
Some possible things to check are:
a) Incompatible or corrupt Mpeg2 decoder software.
Try installing different decoder software or reinstalling the DVD software that came with your system.
This is the most common cause of DVD playback problems.
b) Low video memory. Please try using lower display resolution and/or colors.
c) Another application is currently using the necessary display resources.
Please ensure that no such applications are running.
d) The display adapter is incompatible with the DVD decoder. Please try to obtain a display driver update.
No idea why as I am able to play DVDs with other software.
3- DirectShow Options
After you choose an extension and right click, the title of the window that appears is mispelled. Haven't played with this further because I want to have a 'clean' setup for testing at first.
4- Plugin Manager
I had the DirectX Host plugin installed with 11.1
Its info is still present though I asked to have all of 11 removed when 12's install asked. Shows the path to the MC 11 directory.
Clicking Uninstall then downloading from the Plugins page worked just fine.
5- Image Handling
There needs to be a filter for folder.jpg if nothing else.
I know I can create a view, etc. But simply not importing them would be much better.
Sorting is nice now that the EXIF info is imported/used. I didn't have to setup anything to find some pics. I like the Year, Month, Day view.
6- 'Watch Folders'
Worked well, finding everything in the paths listed.
I always remove playlist types though.
7- Tools>Import
After selecting the media types, I am watcvhing 'Updating thumbnails', now on file 1500 of 6779. This is using 45-66% CPU and is 'bursty', does 15-20 slows down to where I can watch the numbers increment one by one then speeds up for 15-20. This is much slower than 11.1
More later. Gotta get a test library setup.
