Can I install v12 alongside v10 & v11?
modelmaker:
Can I install v12 alongside without unistalling v10 & v11 ?
I do have v 11.1.188 installed
I have downloaded MC12 and I am ready to install it
FYI: I use MC10 to update my laptop/carputer - it runs on MC10 because it's so feeble that it stutters and skips with MC11 with full buffering. (I will be trying 12 on it soon).
modelmaker:
Well, I guess I get to answer my own question: Yes, you can have all 3 versions installed. All 3 seem to work normally, (so far).
I opted for the express install of MC12 with no probs.
I copied the most recent MC11 library backup to a new Library Backup folder in MC12 and tried to restore the library, but that didn't work. I then restored directly from the MC11 folder and that did work.
I'm using it with the Thunderstorm skin.
(And btw Jim, thanks for the license!)
Matt:
We don't recommend v10 side-by-side with other versions. Your mileage may vary.
The latest MC 11 and MC 12 are safe to install at the same time.
lalittle:
What's the "official" word on importing MC11.1 libraries into MC12? I see that some people have done this, but the results seem a bit mixed (i.e. it's working okay after "X" happened.) Is there an "official" word on this? Are MC11.1 libraries "supposed" to import okay into MC12?
Thanks for clarification on this,
Larry
Matt:
It is fine to restore an MC 11.1 library using MC 12.
If you made root view schemes, the view may be messy. Use Edit > Reset All View Schemes To Default... if this is the case.
