Using custom top categories
« on: July 07, 2006, 04:41:07 am »

Hi!
Has anyone tried adding custom root categories (like Audio, Video etc) to MC?

I wanted to import my audiobooks, but I don't want them to appear among my music. Has anybody tried doing the same?

This may help:

How-to: add All Media & CD database to the tree

Just give the audiobooks a common tag that can be used in the inclusion & exclusion rules.

I wrote some words on the subject yesterday: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=34570.0

In this post: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=33274.msg227819#msg227819
check out step 2: create the viewscheme

Alex has posted re. recreating MC11's CD\DVD viewscheme too: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=31061.0

You would tag your audiobook files, then when creating the root viewscheme, use step 4 to limit the "Audiobook" category to list only audiobooks.

Thank you! It was easier than I thought. I just added a new View Scheme with the path to the audiobooks folder. I done the same with my girlf music and my own to separate them.

Thanks!
