Earlier, I installed IE 7 Beta 3 on my XP machine.
Since I do a restore to a clean state before playing with system apps, I had to install MC 12 from scratch as well.

No problem on the install, but anything MC wants to do that uses the internet fails.

Install a plugin? No way.
Check for current version? Nope.

Since I'd be rolling back anyway, I pulled the new DVD out and installed Vista 5456.5

Again MC 12 installs fine but has the same problem with any internet usage.

Before rolling back to my real XP config, I tried disabling every security setting in IE 7. I also tried the same in XP using IE 7 Beta 3.

So, this does not apply just to MC 12 (I'd think), but it is a problem that is coming as IE 7 is a public beta and will go live soon enough.

Anyone have a solution?

ie7 uses different controls i think almost every application that uses IE will or may fail when IE7 is installed unless the program or the os still has the old controls.
