Search Area smaller in MC 12

In MC12 The search area has got smaller.  Is this intentional?



I've spent the past 4 nights trying to get the search to look
right with my skin.  It's really quite difficult! 
The triangle always pops up in the wrong place,
or the clear button overlaps the graphic, or the curved
bits don't come out curved..... and so on...

Could you post a screenshot of what isn't working?  The search box needs to be able to resize.  If you specify margins in the skin properly, this shouldn't be a problem.

Now that you mention it Chriz i did notice the smaller search area as well.

When i tried to modify search items, i found it was not possible to just edit like before and had to do the extra step of right-click->Edit (typing) to do it.

I usually use aaa for alubm artist auto, so after typing it, MC then expands it to Album Artist (Auto) which then takes up all the space and the only way to change aaa is to do the right click thing. Of course this depends on how big the search expression is, but i felt if you clicked right at the end of the expression, it would automatically highlight the entire expression and all you had to do was type aaa=[another aaa] and it worked great. Did not notice this in 12.0

So an extra step in this case, would like the previous, bigger, more user-friendly  search bar back.

Apologys I think I confused you there slightly. 
I don't think anythings not working as such it's just an
area that seems quite difficult if you have curved surfaces,
because they come out a fixed size,
where as like most buttons you have some control of the size.
(I'm just moaning cuz i'm not very good at it!  ;))

The only thing which I was wondering if was wrong was the fact
that the search is smaller in width in MC12 to MC11, which is
shown in the screenshots.
