Avi video files cause C++ Runtime Error (Doof please come in)

(1/1)

Deivit:
Hi all,

I'm experiencing C++ Runtime error crashes every time I attempt to play .avi video files. Those crashes started with build .029 and keep on going thru the current build .033 However, those video files played well (although in a popup window) with build 028 and continue to play OK with that build.
Here's the whole story

Yaobing is working hard to find out what the problem could be, but niether the logs nor a video sample (that played fine in his machine) have helped so far.

I remember having read that some of you experienced the same or similar poblems (datdude? Doof?). Could you please confirm if that's still the case or am I alone with this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Deivit:
I found a couple of mentions in early builds:

Playing videos produces a C++ Runtime error every time.

Installed .28 and video files paly fine.. With  .029 the C++ error occurs.

Playing any video type other than Quicktime or MP4 results in a Runtime Error.

It would be  great if you guys could confirm whether the problem remains with this build or not.

Thanks for your help.

Doof:
Yeah, I'm still getting it. Seems like I can play MOV, QT and MP4 files ok, but everything else gives me the runtime error.

Deivit:
Yaobing has sent me a patch via email and... it works!! No more crashes. I just played a couple of videos without any problem at all.

I will be playing now for a couple of hours and let you know if anything is wrong, but I think he got it! :-)

Thanks very much, Yaobing.
