Using MC with Windows Server 2003
« on: July 24, 2006, 01:32:16 pm »

Hello all,

I've been using the trial version of MC11 under XP SP2 and have been relatively impressed
as many of the other Front End programs out there really don't cut it as far as i'm concerned.
I'm planning on buying a licence for MC and rebuilding my media server under Windows Server 2003
more for stablity and the fact that it's a media server and isn't used for anything else.

I would like to know if there is any compatibility issues using MC with Win3kServer and if there's
anybody out there who is using this set up to please share your views.

Thank you for any assistance and feedback you can give.

Mieko  :)

MC 11 has been running fine for me on Win2k3 Server for several months.
I use MC for MP3 audio files, DVD movies via DVD discs and stored on hard drives, and photos.
I also use the UPNP server and Library Server for remote devices.
Also sync audio with 3 portable devices:  Ipod, Ipod Nano, Archos Jukebox.

That's good to know. I was concerned that if i could actually install MC under Win3k as the last time i played with it 2 years ago, there was a lot of programs that would just not work.
I'm planning to buy a Avel Linkplayer in conjunction with the set up and put it in the living room
(Who needs a noisy PC there..right :) ) and run a secondary display off the PC Video/Sound card
in my office.
