Marty3d:
Nice work! I saw you got the semicolon list bug in Tag sorted out, thanks!

Of course, I found something else. Ever since I got Tag to work, I was bothered that the whole Tag window changed your cursor to "pointing hand", meaning that you could trigger something everywhere in the window. Which isn't correct. If you have a space that doesn't do anything, you should show the arrow, not 'hand'.

But then I noticed that if you move the mouse from the main window to Tag without hovering any clickabe item, the pointer stayed arrowy (actually, if you slowly move it over the divider list, you get the <--> pointer instead).

So it's not a designer error, it's a bug! :)

Marty3d:
Nearest monitor...could you please explain? I have never in my 34 old life seen this term in the computer business :) Is this gonna confuse people...
- Nearest monitor, aha the one with the shortest cable!
- No stupid! It's the TV, I'm sitting far closer to it than the computer!

;)

I'm guessing it means to basically use whichever monitor the main UI of MC is displaying on. So if you have MC on monitor 1 and go to Display View, it will open on Monitor 1, move MC's GUI to monitor 2, and Display View will open there, without you having to manually make that change.

Am I right?

======================
split views
When moving between views, the tree is not updating its selection to reflect the new location.

======================
Action Window
keywords don't apply correctly when applied to multiple file selections. shows best on files with existing keywords.

better reproduction info:
list some files without keywords and select one, open the keywords list in the tag window, tick a tag.
keep the tag window open.
go back to the file list, hold down ctrl and select another file. there should now be two files selected.
back in the action window, tick another keyword. the expected result is one file with one keyword, and one with two keywords.
select each file in turn to view their respective keywords and you should see what I mean.

--------------

Zoom in on a list type field in the Tag window and tick a tag, keep the selection, and use the panes to add a new tag (I added a new keyword).
That action clears the tick from the tag in the action window. Also, if there's a tick in a list type field that's not been applied, a change in audio track is clearing the tick.

--------------

After working inside the tag window, then moving the mouse over the file list, the scroll wheel will not work untill the list is clicked on, or scrolled manually via the scroll bar.

--------------

Zoom in on a list type field, [people], for example, and select an image in the list. Use the cursor keys to move selection to another image. The file list has now lost focus.

--------------

.avi files are not being aquired from the camera. (Discuss?)

======================
slideshow playback
stretch small images, no
scale large images, yes
5 second delay,
no effects
transitions enabled (all of 'em)
caption: if(isempty([caption]),if(isempty([events]),if(isempty([places]),[subject],[places]),[events]),[caption]) (formatdate([date,0],dd MMMM yyyy))

After just a few images, the process becomes:
display image with caption
change caption to that of the next image
start transition > show next image

the problem is that the time between the caption changing, and the new image showing gets longer, giving the slideshow a rather disjointed feel, not unlike trying to watch a movie with out-of-sync audio

======================
expression based fields
Is this expected behaviour?
It has become markedly slower since build 47.
This has speeded up again, but is still noticeably slower. About six seconds from last click to tick on multiple clicks.

======================
thumbnails..
Place the cursor on the bottom toolbar. If there is thumbnail text just out of view, ie, behind the toolbar, the thumbnail fades out to reveal its play tag stuff.
Place another application window on top of MC, and notice that even though it's not the active window, MC is still tracking and reacting to the cursor position.

======================
extended desktop
The TV is the secondary display device, and in the display setup, it's configured to the right of the monitor. MC's tooltips do not detect the right edge of the monitors' display area and instead, display out of view in the extended desktop area.

The context menus know where the edge is, and display to the left if there's not enough room to the right. Hopefully tooltips can be given the same 'awareness'.

======================
Command line stuff
mc12.exe "/playreplace TREEPATH=Playlists\viewscheme groups\Logitech\preset1"

The string above works fine if MC is running. If MC is closed, the string launches MC, but does nothing else.
v11.1 would launch and begin playback.

======================
3D visualisations ~ curious to know if anyone else sees this?
3D vizualisations are only running @ 2 fps, and make MC slow to respond. This is running MC maximised on a 1680 x 1050 screen. If I hide the tree and the file list it drops to zero fps and the pc becomes unuseable.

Setting the application window to 800 x 600, hiding the tree and the filelist, framerate is still only 4 fps. This makes 3D pong unplayable :p

(Nvidia GForce FX 5900XT running on the latest 91.31 forceware drivers)

display view/taskbar issue
Note: My taskbar is along the bottom of the screen, double height..

Display view opens behind the taskbar. It requires a click on the taskbar, then a click on the disply, to bring the display to the front of the taskbar.
I thought this was fixed, but it's not. Try it with some music playing too.

======================
Display View: (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=34771.0)
When in display view, images are presented fullscreen with the 'display frame' laid over the top of the image. The display bar across the top can often obscure essential details in the image, also, the bottom edge of the display frame is obscuring the OSD caption.

When using two split views, activate the second view and launch display view (by double clicking an image?). When returning to standard view, focus has switched to the other view in the split.

======================
Tree Stuff:
Any root view scheme alphabetically lower than 'audio' can still displace the 'tabs' from their top-level resting place. <--- You fixed this? looks much better now
not fixed. placement now differs depending upon which icon is chosen for the viewscheme. "scheme" achieves the desired result. choosing any other wrecks the tree.

These are still a problem, especially the Playing Now thing..
Playing Now is also still wandering around within the tree window as things are expanded/collapsed

Finding it hard to train myself that the expansion arrows for top level tree nodes are on the right. As you widen the tree, the expanders move further and further
away from their relative text items, then, after expanding, subsequent expanders are to the left of their text items. Maybe I'll get used to it, but atm, it doesn't
make drilling around in the tree a very smooth experience.

I'm still not getting on well with the tree in its current form.
