(1/5) > >>

Is the server down.

If not why can't I connect?

KingSparta:
ii just tested it, it is working

ohohyodasoda:
Still not working for me.  Should I try to re-install and see if that fixes it.??

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

John Gateley:
How are you trying to connect? CD lookup? Individual track lookup?

Check your firewall, proxy settings, ISP etc.

Let me know your IP address if you can (and time) and I'll check to see if you are getting through.

try www.yadb.com to see if that works.

Yes www. yadb.com works when I enter it in IE or click on your link.

I originally started to do some analog recording of some LPs.  I have done this before with no problem.  The specific album in question is a Johnny River album Realization.  Pretty common LP which I would think is in the DB.   I searched on both the artist and the album names simultenously.  That is when I got the "failed to connect with YADB messsage"  Very repeatable tried it many times over.

Then I attempted to do some CD lookups.  Dark Side Of The Moon came up, so did BesT Of New Riders Of the Purple Sage, and also The Ventures Telstar and Out of Limits.

CD Lookup failed on a very common album Traveling Wilburys, and an obscure one The Legendary Joe Meek.

Time of lookups is about 8:45 central and IP is 192.168.0.103 currently.  I did several reboots during that time, and use DSL so I don't know if that will effect anything.

I have also disabled my WXP SP2 firewall to see if that would help but it did not make any difference.

Based on the common albums that have failed to return any info, is it possible that you may have a bad HD and some of the records in the DB are not accesssable?  Just a novice guess.  I really don't know to much about this sort of stuff compared to you guys.

As an experiment I just entered Pink Floyd, Dark Side of The Moon in the Artist and Album fields of the sound Recorder and clicked on Tracks button and then Search Internet to see what would happen.  Got the failed message again but when I cleared the message and opened the Albums Found drop down box there were lots of Dark Side Of the Moon entries.  So I selected one and then I got the Failed to connect to the YADB server message again.  Time 9:14

Very Strange, CD lookup worked but manual lookup for the same album using sound recorder couldnt find the same common album.

Something very goofy here.  BTW lookup in sound recorder used to work fine in the past.  Now it doesn't work at all.  Could something in my system be corrupted?  Do you think a re-install of Media Center 10 would cure this?

I just noticed the IP address on my posts.  Why is the address that I find in XP different?  Is it because I have a D-link router between the computer and the DSL phone line?  and how do I find my real address if that is the case?
