Can I use CD-RW Disc's on M J?
« on: September 11, 2002, 09:25:40 pm »

Is it possible to back up data on a rewritable CD like one does on a floppy disc using M.J? If so would you tell me the proceedure please.

Also when I try to Burn it says there is no disc loaded even though there is,then it crashes.
Thanks

You can back up your music files to CD-RW disks in data format using MJ. MJ supports multi-session so you can back up some files today, then some more next week, etc.
MJ does not support what they call "packet writing" however, which makes your CD look more like a regular disk where you can add and delete files easily. For that you need WinXP, or DirectCD, InCD, or something similar.

As to the crashing problem, which cd burner model do you have? Try checking the "use generic drive" option in cd writer settings. Try a lower write speed. Also, check out the FAQ and "CD burning tips" on the help menu on this page. Can you burn successfully using other software?
