Looking up tracks w/o recording?
« on: September 03, 2006, 10:11:22 pm »

Hi -  I am transferring LPs to CD.  I record in a different program that allows more sophisticated processing, and then at the end, split the large wav file into individual tracks before burning to CD.

Media Center has a great feature when recording, allowing you to put in an album and artist and it looks up track names automatically.   But I can't seem to find a way to get it to do this with a file or files that I have imported without recording in MC.  It would be great to use MC to open the large wav file (entire album), look up tracks, and automatically name and split.  Or even if I split first manually, just to save me the trouble of typing in all the ID information by hand for all the tracks.  Is there a way to do any of this currently?

Thanks,
Michael
