playing FLAC files
« on: September 04, 2006, 05:51:01 pm »

I purchased jriver for great media interface, I how have a problem I can not get MC to play FLAC files. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the FLAC plugin, I have also uninstalled MC all together and reinstalled still no FLAC. I do not have the file associate in MC because it's not listed even though it is installed.

Thanks for any advice.....

First off, make sure you pick up the latest plugins.  There are two - one for encoding and one for decoding.  I assume you have 11.1.x so pick up the v1 plugins.  The v2 plugins are for 12.0.  Files are available at http://mcplugins.sourceforge.net

Secondly, sometimes MC will still put flac's into the "documents" tree.  Typically, exiting MC and then restarting will fix this.

If flac does not show up as a valid file type in MC, then the plugin didn't register correctly for some reason.  You can try installing the plugin again from MC's plugin manager.  Use the *.mjp file whenever possible, however.
