Hello,

Just having a little iddy biddy problem with this version of MJ.

Whenever I try to alter the info of a track (eg artist or name) MJ hangs.... not certain whether this started when I upgraded earlier.

Using Win2k SP2, with 1Gb memory, currently 9,827 tracks on database... Any ideas?

Just a quick update....
Upgraded to latest version (MJ 8.0.369) and that didn't help. Still doing same thing.

I also noticed this problem with updating tags, MJ will Freeze. the only way out is to close down MJ.

this does not happen on all files however.

What i did and this may help you, is to remove the ID3v2 Tags (with Dr tag, Tag And Rename Or Helium, etc....) and then re-Write the ID3v2 tags back to the file.

Ooook! There must be a simpler way of doing this...? It could take weeks for me to do that.... It seems to happen on just about ANY that I try to edit though.... It used to work fine, and works fine at home too....

Can you email a small file that it fails on to jimh @ jriver.com with a brief description of the problem?

It could be a bad ID3v2 tag.

One thing that has changed since I started getting this problem is that I actually registered MJ, not using the demo version any more... don't know if this is significant.

why would it take weeks?

I would think maybe a few mins since i did it to 6000|PLS| files in less than 30 mins. I am not sure why you think it is all that hard.

The problem with removing the tags and then redoing them is that if I do that I'll lose some information from some of them....
