Data flash disk recognized as media player

Whenever I have a data flash disk inserted in my PC and am running Media Center (version 11.1.191) I receive the following message:

Media Center has detected a new device attached to your machine:
Sony Storage Media (in my case)
Do you want Media Center to recognize this device as a portable media player?
How do I disable this from occurring?

I have tried numerous likely options settings and also have searched this forum but have not found anything useful.
