iPod Sound Check - Album Gain?

I have MC configured to use Album Gain for playback. Does this mean when I sync my files to my iPod and switch Sound Check on that it will use the album gain values or does it always default to the track gain setting?
If it's the latter please can you add an option to allow us to choose which we'd prefer to use on the iPod?
I generally listen to complete albums so normal track gain is a no go.
Thanks.

Is there any chance of being able to use album gain in future with an option or something?
Thanks for the reply.

A cheeky self-bump if I may. With MC13 now betaing, is there a chance of this being an option for soundcheck? A toggle in the handheld options for whether it uses the track or album gain values for soundcheck would be great.
