finding cover art size
« on: August 16, 2006, 12:13:44 pm »

Cover art is stored as folder.jpg files in same folder as the audio files.
I'm starting a project to improve the quality of the cover art, hoping to get it all at 300x300 or better.
Is it possible in v12 to determine from the audio file's point of view what size it's attached cover art is?

I tried Width < 299 in the search field, but that doesn't seem to work in an audio viewscheme.

I realize I can import all the folder.jpg files and do the search that way, but that method doesn't make it so I can use the "get files from internet" feature on albums with lower quality artwork.

I was wondering how to do this too, But I wanted to check for files that are too big before I embedd them in the tags and end up with a load of bloated mp3s.

Anyone got the answer ??

There is no way that I know of yet. I have been requesting it for a number of weeks so far but nothing yet.

Hello,

I'm glad I started from the beginning with 300x300 images for my folder.jpg. For my movies I use 300x430.

It seems the only way to correct your problem is by doing a batch file with an image editor. (Paint shop Pro). But I guess a 200x200 doesn't look nice when enlarged to 300x300.

The problem too is with all files named folder.jpg you never know what file it is...

Regards,

I have my cover art files imported and tagged with the album and artist tags.

I can see the cover art files besides the music files in a view scheme that does not have a media type limitation.

This makes possible to use MC's tools, searches and library information with cover art too.

EDIT

The Fill Properties From Filename tool can be used for masstagging the cover art files.
For example: Directories: [Artist]\[Album]
or if the files are in a common folder: Filename: [Artist] - [Album].
