radio streams
« on: October 15, 2006, 01:33:03 pm »

Have been away from streaming radio for quite a while.
Thought I'd try it again.
Didn't have any luck with the following URL's.
Went to FILE > OPEN URL and pasted in the URL's listed below.
Also tried just clicking the hyperlinks on the website.

In both cases, MC 12.0.93   gives me the following error:
Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files.  Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location.

I was able to get the m3u link to play in MC 12.0.089 by clicking on the winamp icon on the site's Listen Online page. I'm using Opera if that matters.

I was unable to get any of the links to play via the File>>Open URL route in MC. They also didn't work in Media Player Classic when using the file>>open command there. Odd because I thought MPC could open everything. File>>Open worked fine in Winamp.

Is the fact that the stream comes from an Icecast server make any sort of difference?

I tried those three links.  The first two try to use MC to open, but they give me the "MC encountered errors" message and don't play.  The third link opened in Windows Media Player and played.

All 3 of those URL opens a MP3 stream. They failed due to a bug intoduced with the buffering of MP3 streams. Should be fixed in the next build.
