replicating libraries remote computers
« on: October 15, 2006, 02:15:13 am »

Hi all
I have MC 11.1 installed on 3 computers - one desktop at home, one laptop and one desktop at work. I have the same MP3 folder on all 3 computers with about 3000 songs. I want to be able to sync the libraries so i will have the same data like number of playes for each song, and also if i create a smartlist or playlist in one of the computers it will be added to all other computers.
Is there a way of doing with something built in in MC?

Thanks

As long as you have the MP3 files in the same folder structure, e.g. c:\mp3, simply select File\Library\Backup Library on the computer that you made the change to. Then get that file to the other computers somehow, email, USB drive, etc. Select Restore Library and you've got all your library changes.  Be aware that if you do anything that changes the tags of the MP3 files, you'll also need to copy those changed file(s) too some other way.
